Funeral services were conducted at 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 1974 at the Dawalt Chapel for Homer Cooley, age 63, a resident of Route 2, Pekin, Indiana. Bro. E. C. Ringer officiated at the rites and interment followed in the Martinsburg Cemetery. Mr. Cooley was born Dec. 11, 1911 in Washington County, the son of Robert S. and Mary K. (South) Cooley. He was a member of the Borden Church of Christ and the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department. He had been a life resident of Borden and Martinsburg and was a farmer. He was married Sep. 20, 1941 to Viola Faye Buchanan Cooley, who preceded him in death Jan. 24, 1974. He passed away at 11 a.m. Nov. 27, 1974 at the residence of a step-son Marvin Bell. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Cooley, Route 1, Fredericksburg, Indiana; one step-son, Marvin Bell, Route 2, Pekin, Indiana; one sister, Mrs. Nola Smith, Ft. Pierce, Florida and six grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
