According to the census records, Perrin was:

- age 68 on June 8 or 9, 1880
- age 56 on June 10, 1870
- age 47 on July 5, 1860

It doesn't quite work out. It can be surmised, however, that his birthday was likely in June and that he was born c1813. If that's true, he could not be the father of the Perrin Cooley born in 1820. Either that or ther second Perrin was much younger than stated on the 1900 census.

[I'm incuding only the paragraph that includes mention of Perrin.]

1st. It is my will that all my property, both real and personal, in the
County of Macon, be exposed to sale as shortly as possible and upon such
terms as may seem most to the interest of my estate. I desire that my Negro
man, Jim, and a wagon and Ox team be in like manner exposed to sale as also
all the surplus stock not necessary to carry on the farm at my home place. I
also wish sold in like manner as above, eighty acres of land in Randolph
County which is commonly known as the Grimes place. I have sold to Morris
Gee 40 acres of land being on the Sweet Spring Creek, the same purchased of
Perrin Cooley for which he has sold to me his present crop of tobacco when
his delivering the same and complying with the pre-contract. I direct my
Executor to deed him the land, the amount being fifty dollars to be paid out
of the crop of tobacco and the balance after paying expense of hauling &
to be paid to Gee. The above deed was to be made to F. Patton as Trustee for
Mrs. Gee.

Checking on Lucinda Carter Cooley 1819-1878 recently I came across a record on that held this info:

Lucinda Carter Cooley, born 1819 in KY, died 18 Jan 1878, buried in La Plat=
a Cem, Macon Co. Married 31 Jan 1833 Husband: PERIAN Cooley, born 25 Dec 1811, died 1899, buried La Plata cemetery.

Also on this record follows: from LaPlata Home Press, 16 March 1899 the obit for PERRIN Cooley.

In error on the findagrave record, I believe, is the notation of a daughter,
Emma M. Cooley Murley 1834-1896. She appears to be the daughter of a John Cooley.
