PORTER COOLEY 61 DIES UNEXPECTEDLY AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS
Porter Cooley, 61, who lived one mile south of Cairo died suddenly at 5:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Woodland Hospital. He entered the hospital after becoming ill almost 2:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Cooley born in the Darksville community and lived most of his life in Randolph and Macon counties. He lived in Moberly several years and was employed 10 years by Wabash Railroad Company at the shop and as a brakeman.
He was a member of North Park Baptist Church and Moberly Masonic Lodge No 311. He saw service with the US Cavalry in WWI.
Surviving are his wife, a son Forrest Elvin Cooley, Moberly; two daughters Mrs. Della Satterfield, Cairo and Mrs Wilma O'Bryan, Moberly; his mother Mrs. Keturah Cooley, Moberly; three brothers, John Cooley, Bruce Cooley and Archie Cooley, Moberly; a sister Mrs Ruth Dennison, Hannibal and 13 grandchildren.
The body will be taken from Cater Funeral Home to the Cooley home south of Cairo.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

FUNERAL TOMORROW FOR PORTER COOLEY
Funeral services for Porter Cooley, 61, who died Thursday afternoon, will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the North Park Church by Pastor Lester Zumwalt; a Masonic service is planned. Buriel will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The body is at the home South of Cairo.
