Harley E. Cooley, 66, a former resident of Silver City, died last week at the Sante’ Fe Railroad hospital in Albuquerque following a illness of several weeks’ duratlon. The funeral service, under the direction of StrongThorne Moruary, were held Monday at St. Marks Episeopal. Church in Albuquerque.
Mr. Cooley, who was a native of Missouri, was an official of the Santa Fe Railroad and retired Sept. 1, after 49 years of service with the organization. The Coolys resided in Silver City approximately 15 years during his career with the railroad, leaving here about 20 years ago for service in Lubbock, Tex. After about ten years there, they were transferred to Albuquerque, their ,resent home. Immediate survivors of the deceased include his widow, Mrs. Imogene Cooley, who is a sister of MRS W G Word Jr. of Silver, two sons, Dr. Richard Cooley of Seattle, Wash., and Harley Cooley of Pasadena, Calif., six grandchildren, and a sister of California. http://newmexicoalhn.net/grant/grobittextc.htm
Imogene Cooley, 89, of Santa Cruz, Calif., died Saturday in Santa Cruz where she was in a nursing home. She was a former longtime resident of Silver City. There will be no services.
