She was born in Great Falls, Montana to Delbert and Enid Elliott Dotson.

She married Lloyd V. Cooley on April 25, 1950 in Salem. He preceded in death on November 18, 2001.

She is survived by her sons, Terry and Glenna of Wolf Creek, Mont., Lyle and Shawna, Ron and Teri, all of Dallas; daughter, Donna and Lonny Thomas of Post Falls, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Barbara Cooley

July 23, 1929 - Sept. 4, 2005

Barbara Cooley, formerly of Dallas, died in Post Falls, Idaho Sept. 4. She was 76.

She was born to Delbert and Enid Elliott Dotson in Great Falls, Mont.

She lived in Montana for a short time and her family settled in the South Salem Hills. She graduated from Salem High School.

She married Lloyd V. Cooley April 25, 1950 in Salem. They later settled just south of Dallas on their family farm.

She drove school bus for Rex Rogers in Dallas for six years. She had also been a row boss in the bean fields for some time. She had spent a lot of time working with her husband on the family farm. She did a little bit of everything including operating all of the farm equipment.

She had been a member of the Polk County Elections Board, Bridgeport Precinct for many years.

She had moved to Post Falls just over two years ago to be closer to her daughter.

Her family was number one and she enjoyed camping and fishing with them at Odell Lake. She and Lloyd had enjoyed traveling in their RV.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Nov. 18, 2001.

Survivors include her sons, Terry of Wolf Creek, Mont., Lyle and Ron, both of Dallas; daughter, Donna Thomas of Post Falls; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 in Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center in Dallas. Private interment will be in Restlawn Mausoleum.

Contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Willamette Valley Hospice in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center.
