James H. Cooley
HOPKINSVILLE - James Harold "Jim" Cooley, 72, of Cadiz, died July 11 at Pinecrest Manor.
Born Aug. 17, 1931, in Bradfordsville, he was the son of the late Frank and Delitha Campbell Cooley. He served in the Marine Corps and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He also was a member of Junction City United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Talavera Cooley; six daughters, Sherry Emerson and Kathy Cooley, both of Danville, Carion Markland of Orangeburg, S.C., Tena King of Junction City, Melisa Hicks of Perryville and Christina Cooley of Cadiz; six stepsons, Randy Young of Lyon County, Bobby Young and Billy Young, both of Junction City, James Young of Russellville, Philip Young of Eight Mile, Ala., and Chris Knox of Hopkinsville; two stepdaughters, Nicole Mann and Mary Ryan Martin, both of Hopkinsville; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Randall Cooley of Hopkinsville and Leonard Wayne Cooley of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Norma Jean Roberson of Kokomo, Ind., Carolyn Wineinger of Gainesville, Ga., and Juanita Rayens of Junction City.
Graveside services were Wednesday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
Pallbearers were Derrick Cooley, Joe Cooley, Ray Emerson, Russell Mann, Brian Martin and Howard Merritt.
