Margaret Ann Sylvester was the daughter of John Adam Sylvester and Kitty Standley Sylvester. She was born December 19, 1868 in Washington, Texas and died October 2, 1957 in Falls County, Texas.

Her first marriage was to Henry Thomas Powell, son of John and Nancy Caroline Inman Powell of Falls County, Texas. Mr. Powell was born November 15, 1864 in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas and died in early 1889 in Chilton, Falls County, Texas. It is unknown at this time where Henry Thomas Powell is buried.
