Clair Cooley
A memorial Mass will be held June 24 for Clair C. Cooley of Eugene, who died June 21 of renal failure. He was 96.
Cooley was born June 16, 1908, in Cottage Grove to Currin and Myrtle Hambrick Cooley. He married Gene Morrison in Klamath Falls on June 18, 1934. She died Oct. 13, 1984. He married Lois Schreiner in Eugene on Aug. 16, 1986. She died in 1995.
He was a lifetime resident of this area and graduated from University High School in Eugene.
He was employed in the retail store management field and worked for Woolworth's before retiring from Sears Roebuck after 26 years of service.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic in Eugene and he belonged to the Obsidians. He enjoyed writing, photography, hiking and traveling.
Survivors include four sons, Currin of Arkansas, Dale of Dayton, Nev., Dave of Eugene and Tom of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grand- children.
Thursday's Mass will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Eugene. Inurnment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eugene.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
