Naples, Fla. - Sidney Eugene Cooley, 75, of Naples, formerly of Pataskala, Ohio, died Aug. 21, 2003, at his residence.
Gene was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Clendenin, W.Va., a son of the late Sidney B. and Thelmer L. Cooley.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Plant; and a brother, Arlen Cooley.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1948 and was an electronics technician, electric installer and janitor for North American Rockwell from 1952 to 1986.
He will be greatly missed by his family, especially by Brian, and friends, Nancy and Bill McCarthy.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Patricia Rice Cooley; daughter and her husband, Susan and Bill Bible; grandson, Brian R. Francis; brothers and their wives, Ronald and Cora Sue Cooley, Kenneth and Janice Cooley; sisters and their husbands, Marcelene Smith, Dolores "Tiny" and Joseph Gessell, Joann and Max Gibson; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Kauber-Miller Funeral Home, Pataskala, with Father Alan Sprenger officiating. Interment will be in Pataskala Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
