Here are the final transcriptions from the 1850 Federal Census of New Jersey for any households in which a Pettit appears for the counties of Camden, Cumberland, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Ocean and Warren. However, do not take this transcription and the others as the final word -- not only could I have errors but the original records could be flawed. Also, as I used published indexes as a guide to lead me to these records, any Pettits missed in the indexing process (or had their names so poorly spelled that they do not show under the more common spelling variations), would not appear here. If any such errors or omissions are discovered please let me know.
