Who are the five children of Benjamin Pettit, Jr. and Hannah McNelly (various spellings) who married in Lincoln Co, KY 23 Aug 1793? Benjamin, Jr. died in SE Missouri 1803-04 shortly after the extended family moved there and the depositions for land grants indicate that there was a widow and five children. Does anyone have documented proof of the parents of Walker Pettit who served in the War of 1812 from KY? He is with other Pettits in Ouchita, LA in 1830 but appears in Texas prior to the Revolution, living in Shelby County. Seeking the family of Mary Pettit, ca. 1810, who married Samuel Gardner in Burlington County, NJ. They came to Indiana in 1846. They had at least 12 children, the last two being born in Indiana. A son Charles was listed as living with a Charles and Rebecca Pettit in an 1860 census report for Indiana. His age was 25 years. I presume Charles was a brother of Mary as his age was given as 42.
