Guardian Bartholomew

The following was transcribed from photocopies of the original records received from Bonnie Bartlett (3251 Partridge Way, Springfield, OR 97477) in September 1990. These items were taken from the Muskingum County, Ohio Court of Common Pleas records; however, neither the book numbers nor page numbers are noted.

Bartholomew Pettit married Sarah Ann Butt on 17 April 1823 in Muskingum County. Some further information and him and his family can be found in TPC (page 16 of the July 1988 and page 97 of the October 1989). Bartholomew was born in Delaware. Note that on page 91 of the October 1989 issue is listed a Bartholomew as being a soldier in the War of 1812. Can anyone prove or disprove that this is the same man?

April Term 1827 the 28th inst. Case No. 735 Jane Eliza Hook aged [blank] years comes into Court and chooses Bartholomew Pettit as her guardian whom the Court appoint as such to give bond in $100. Hazael Butt is accepted as security, 242, bond executed.
