Know all men by his presents, that I Thomas Pettet of Mercer County and state of Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth my wife, for in consideration of the sum two hundred forty four dollars and forty perches to us in hand by Benjamin Sharpless, and Septimus Cadwallioer with this consideration, both of the county and state aforesaid, at once before the almighty and destiny herself the truth do acknowledge and hath said:

We bargained, sell, and release, and confirm that by these forms do bargain and sell when once confirmed, unto the same Sharpless & Cadwallioer and their heirs, and forgo all our estate with title interest for hereby claim and domains what so ever, of into or out of a certain tract or parcel of land located in Mahoning Township, Mercer County, of the state of Pennsylvania, containing forty nine acres and forty perches, the forty perches recognize the ground now occupied as a burying ground,

[Then the deed describes the land bounderies by giving the land owners on each side.]

Surveyed by a warrant for four hundred three and acres in the name of Isreal Wheeling bearing the date the 14th day of April, 1792, for which said Pettet has agreed with a certain John Abraham who found himself attached with two hundred acres of the same tract. Together we our heirs all and singular the rights to mentioned acres and appendages there unto belonging, and recant and remand unto buyer any profits thereof, together with all the warrant benefits and claims taged thereof.

To have and to hold the said tract of land and hereby bargain same as sold or intended to be with the appendages unto the same Sharpless & Carolina and their heirs and asignees forever. And the same Pettet and his wife Elizabeth and their heirs, grant forever unto the said Sharpless & Cadwallioer and their heirs and asignees forever, the said Pettet and wife and their heirs will defend against all and any other person or persons what so ever lawfully, or to claim by form or under them or any other kind, and will warrant and will forever defend.

In testimony hereof we have here hereby set our names and offer our seals, this twenty ninth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighteen. 1818. In the presents of us Nathan Small & Joe Small. Signed by Thomas Pettet and Elizabeth Pettet made her X mark.

Mercer County day of June 29th, 1818 personally appeared before me, being one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the county, Thomas Pettet and Elizabeth his wife and personally acknowledged the within written indenture to be titled and deed, and decree that the same may be recorded as according to law. The same Elizabeth being of full age, liberate and sound of mind, home for her husband, was examined and the full context thereof made known to her, voluntarily agreeing thereto. In testimony when I have hereto set my name and seal this date as written.
