Solomon Pettet was the youngest child of Joseph and Elizabeth (Mohler) Pettet. The following is from the Idaho Daily Statesman, 12 April 1902 (Monday).

FATAL ACCIDENT.
Sol Petit Dies from Resultant Blood Poisoning.

Sol Petit, a farmer residing near Meridian, suffered a severe accident Tuesday morning, caused by a horse stepping on his ankle. The bone was broken and the jagged ends protruded through the flesh. Surgical aid was promptly secured but the injred man failed to rally from the shock. He lingered along and blood poisoning set in, which resulted fatally at 2 p.m. yesterday.

The decesaed was 46 years of age, and had been a resident of this county for 18 years. He leaves a wife and 10 children. The funeral will take place from the M.E. church junder the auspices of I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 43, of which deceased had been a member.
