Dear Mr. Hogue,
Your letter which was forwarded from Beverly Hills I read with great interest.
Of course I remember you very well from the early days of the Workshop. I'm delighted to learn you are committed to such a worthy cause - the rehabilitation of the handicapped person. I can think of no finer effort than the one on which you are engaged.
I would have responded to your request with enthusiasm had I been in Los Angeles and had a free period in which to cooperate. The presentation of the rewards is a wonderful idea and should have the assistance of us all. It is to be regretted that your letter reached me too late to arrange for a substitute.
Just to bring you up to date, I am starring in "Lord Pengo" with Charles Boyer at the Royale Theatre in New York. We are having a very successful engagement and I can't tell, at this time, how long I'll be here. However, keep in touch with me for perhaps at some future presentation I can be of assistance.
It was good of you to think of me as one who could contribute to your enterprise.
Cordially,
Agnes Moorehead
