Re: [Fwd: Re: Joseph Cooley (s/o Cornelius & Dorothy Cooley) - What is
You can find the Joseph Cooley autobiography on internet. I found it by using Joseph Cooley, born 1843, Missouri, son of William Cooley autobiography. It is also on Ancestry and probably Rootsweb sites. He mentions several Cooley's and his Field's uncles. They were apparently his mother's brothers.
I do not think this is the Joseph Cooley living with Wm Fields in 1860 which was my immediate thought but he is too young, plus he is listed with his parents in Chariton County, William and Elizabeth Field's Cooley.

I think that I asked the question about a family for Joseph Cooley without thinking. I forgot that he was found on the 1860 census living with William Fields as a 24 year old and without a family.

After checking Joseph Cooley's civil war papers on Fold3 I have come to the conclusion that what looks like Wm is just a fancy W. However, he was 27 years old and a farmer -- have we found a family for him?

I'd say it is a W. I'll upload it to the webpage and send the link to
everyone to see what they think.
BTW, you can send attachments with plain text emails to the list,
Thanks for this!
