I think this did pass through. But Rufus is probably not part of the
Cooley/Havens clan. He's been identified with Ensign Benjamin Cooley and I
see no reason to suspect otherwise.

We've clearly identified at least four PA groups: Ensign Benjamin;
Cooley/Firmin; Francis, who looks like the Daniell of MD line; and
Cooley/Havens, which looks a lot like ours. The question is, did they
descend from John or was there a collateral line? There's a bunch of
missing generations floating around among our Cooleys. This might be
another tough one.
