As I mentioned in an earlier email that I ordered probate records from Macon
county Historical Society.
One of them was for Elizabeth Cooley, box #207 thinking that is might be the
wife of James Cooley. However, the file/box number doesn't have anything to do
with how early the time period was.
This probate package was disappointing as it was one page (ten dollars a probate
record plus 25 cent a page to copy) and it was only for the bond of the
administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Cooley. The date was 22 August 1870 --
so could this be for the wife of Benjamin R Cooley? Certainly would have been
too late to be the wife of James Cooley.
