Sounds like you may have a connection.

Last night, I made direct contact with the wife of a descendant of RR
Cooley. These are the reasons I'm interested in him:
* He lived in Indiana near my Edward Cooley.
* A 1946 letter said he had a brother who was killed New Orleans.
(Cornelius Cooley died in N.O. in 1814.)
* The same letter said that "about 1831, two of these sons came from No.
Carolina to Marietta, [Washington co] Ohio." (William Henry Cooley lived
in Washington co OH.)
* He had a brother named James.
Call me crazy, but I think these may have been siblings:
William Henry Cooley (1797-1877)
Reuben Ransom Cooley (1805-1870+)
James Cooley (1808/9-1870+)
If RR's DNA is of our type, we will need to determine if the markers are
more like Wm H's, or more like John's. Of course, he may not match us at
all. But that'll be okay. We'll know.
