Do we have any idea what the "C" in Perrin C. Cooley was for? It's a
bit curious that Milo
was once an "M.C." Cooley and Ervin was often E.C. Cooley, though his
death record has
him as Ervin Wilson? Cooley. Did this generation have a default middle
initial? C = 3?
As for Perrin C. being a great nephew of Perrin Sr., why not?. It would
seem even more
likely if we ever determine that Perrin was a surname that had meaning
for John 1, either
from his mother or grandmother, or from his early days in Virginia or
North Carolina.
For all we know, it could have been - Perrin's - mother's maiden name.
