The Johns are very confusing. Joseph's John died in 1844 and Perrin's John
was probably the John who committed suicide in 1846. Then we have the John
who was still living in 1850 and 60, who can only belong to James Sr--as
far as I can tell. All of them were of legal age in the 1830s.
