This may mean nothing but there is a John Cooley age 7, born in IL, living
in Jersey county IL in 1870 with a non-Cooley household.

The interesting this about this is that Jersey county is where the James
Cooley of Jack county TX had earlier lived.
There is no record that James had a son "S B" so, as I said, this may mean
nothing, but it is worth noting.
