From the collection of Dale L Walker: Holy Bible of Martha Isabelle (Youngblood) Cooley, wife of John I Cooley. Martha I Cooley was born 1847 and died 1931. The Bible is not dated. NOTE: I, Sandra Swanker Stanton, in typing this will that her great grandmother wrote in this Bible will not be typing it as written, but with my interpretations in regard to the spelling. HOLY BIBLE "This Bible goes back to Annie Gleason and everything she gave me I have got. Mother Children don't forgot my things. I want Annie to have everything I have got that she gave me and Saidie to have everything she gave me and the Sears sewing machine. This is your mother one writing. I want Frank to have my [note: I can't read what this is] and Erney to have one pillow and Edd to have one pillow and Danny to have one pillow and Annie to have her grandmother Cooley old quilt. I want Rueben to be sure to keep plenty _?_he will two pillows and Annie to have my feather bed." My notes on the children listed above and were the only children living when Martha wrote in her Bible. Since Mary E died in 1930 this would lead one to believe that Martha wrote this a couple of years before her death. Annie is daughter Lucinda Ann who was married to Carl Gleason. Saide is daughter Mary Emmaline married to George Byers. Mary E. died about one year before her mother. I had been told she was called "Sis". Apparently was by her siblings and not her mother. Frank is son Frank Hampton. Erney is son Ernest Everett. Edd is son Henry Edwin. Danny is son Daniel I.
