DNA has shown that Drury Cooley (Andrew Cooley and Catherine Burchett) is
not of our line, but some of us remain interested in the North Carolina
Cooleys--at least we will be up to the time when all major pre-1800 VA/NC
lines have DNA-tested. This document is of interest because it states that
Drury was born in Chatham County NC.
He's of DNA group CF09, which includes Benjamin Cooley/Cooley of Stokes
county and the Cooley/Gargus line. There are two other matches but they
have yet to step forward and reveal their lines.
