I don't think we can say 100% that the Perrin mentioned is not your
Perrin. Perrin C and Perrin (Jr?) were only about 7 years apart. It would
make sense, though, that the elder Perrin was this James's brother.

I would think that this is your Perrin in 1850. It now seems evident that
Edward was EC's and Milo's brother. Perhaps Harriett was Edward's wife,
listed first only because she was older.
